Overview

While the Columns Block can be used to create a variety of page layouts, Editors should be thoughtful about how these layouts fit into the larger site. The Phillips 66 theme uses a Single Column Page Template, which means that all content on all pages is generally organized in a single vertical column. Multiple columns should only be used within other Blocks, such as a Group.

Below is an example of a page that uses columns correctly.

This page uses a Column Block, but it fits into the larger one-column layout. This is approved and should be used when necessary.

Below is an example of a page that uses columns incorrectly.

This page is set up in a two-column layout. This is not a layout that the Phillips 66 theme uses. If you would like to feature content side-by-side, consider using a built-in design element. such as the Split Card block.
